SWEDISH 1920S/1930S BLACK FELT HAT BY FORSS. SIZE EU 57

DESCRIPTION 

This hat is of Swedish origin and was made by J.A. Forss Hat Factory in Falköping, in southern Sweden, most likely sometime during the 1920s or 1930s. It was sold new by the shop Gröningsons in Svärdsjö, a small town in central Sweden.

In colour, it is black and features a matching black hatband. The interior is lined with a light silk fabric bearing both the manufacturer’s and the retailer’s names. It has a dark brown leather sweatband.

The overall condition is good, though not perfect. There is some discolouration to the lining on the inside, as well as a number of small marks in the felt. These are only noticeable upon close inspection. Please study the photographs carefully and form your own opinion of the condition.

The inner circumference of the hat measures 57 centimeters. It can be stretched approximately half a size using a hat stretcher. Please scroll down for exact measurements.
