ITALIAN 1930S/1940S BLACK HOMBURG FELT HAT BY BARBISIO. SIZE EU 57

DESCRIPTION 

This black homburg hat is of Italian. It was produced by legendary hat maker Barbisio, most likely sometime during the 1930s or 1940s. It was imported to Sweden by Paul U. Bergström, a well-known department store in Stockholm. It is black in colour and features a matching hatband and edge binding, also in black.

The interior is lined with a light silk fabric bearing the manufacturer’s logo and the importer’s logo. It has a light brown leather sweatband. In addition to the logo, the sweatband is stamped with both logos. The sweatband is also stamped with the original owner’s initials.

The condition is excellent, virtually as new. There are no obvious signs of wear. Please study the photographs carefully and form your own opinion of the condition.

The inner circumference of the hat measures 57 centimeters. It can be stretched approximately half a size using a hat stretcher. Please scroll down for exact measurements.
