ITALIAN 1930S/1940S DARK GREEN FEDORA FELT HAT BY BARBISIO. SIZE EU 56,5

DESCRIPTION 

This hat is of Italian origin and was produced by the legendary Italian hatmaker Barbisio, most likely sometime during the 1930s or 1940s. It was imported into Sweden and sold new at the Paul U. Bergström (PUB) department store in Stockholm.

In colour, it is dark green and features a matching hatband and edge binding. It is fitted with a so-called storm strap wrapped around the crown. The strap is designed to be fastened through a buttonhole or similar, ensuring that the hat is not lost in windy conditions. The interior is lined with a light silk fabric bearing the logos of both the manufacturer and the retailer. The sweatband is made of light brown leather and also carries both logos.

As for condition, it is very good overall. There is little to note other than some light discolouration to the lining, which is of course not visible when the hat is worn. Please study the photographs carefully and form your own opinion of the condition.
