AUSTRIAN 1920S/1930S MEDIUM-GREY FEDORA FELT HAT BY DERMOTTA. SIZE EU 54

DESCRIPTION 

This hat is of Austrian origin, produced by Dermotta and imported into Sweden, where it was sold by Södra Hatt, a hat shop located in the Södermalm district of Stockholm.  It was most likely produced during the 1920s, or possibly slightly later.

In colour, it is mid-grey and features contrasting tones on the hatband and edge binding — the hatband is black, while the edge binding is light grey. The interior is lined with a light silk fabric bearing the logos of both the manufacturer and the importer. The sweatband is made of grey leather and once again carries both logos. It also features the original owner’s initials stamped into the leather.

As for condition, there is nothing to note externally. Internally, the lining is slightly discoloured due to age, but this is of course not visible when the hat is worn. Please study the photographs carefully and form your own opinion of the condition.
