BRITISH 1930S/1940S MID-GREY FEDORA FELT HAT BY HARRIS. SIZE EU 55

DESCRIPTION 

This very rare and fine fedora appears to have been produced in England by Harris. Our uncertainty regarding the country of origin is simply due to our lack of detailed knowledge about the manufacturer; however, it is most likely a British firm. The hat was imported into and sold in Sweden by Carolina Anderssons, a hat shop that was located in Västerås.

In colour, the felt is mid-grey and features a contrasting light grey hatband and edge binding. The hatband is of a rather unusual design, with two pleats and no bow. The interior is lined with a light silk fabric bearing both the manufacturer’s and the importer’s logos. The sweatband is grey leather and also carries both logos.

The overall condition is very good; however, there are two points worth noting. The first is a mark on the underside of the brim. This is not particularly prominent and is only noticeable upon close inspection. The second is some minor wear to the grey sweatband in one spot. Neither of these issues is visible when the hat is worn. Please study the photographs carefully and form your own opinion of the condition.
