SWEDISH 1920S/1930S PURPLE-BLUE FELT HAT BY FORSS. SIZE EU 54

DESCRIPTION 

This hat is of Swedish origin. J.A. Forss was a Swedish hat manufacturer whose production was based in Falköping. It was most likely produced sometime during the 1920s, or possibly in the early 1930s.

In colour it is blue, but it also has a distinct purple tone. The interior is beautifully lined with silk fabric featuring the manufacturer’s logo printed on it. The name of the gentlemen’s outfitter where the hat was originally sold is also printed in the lining. The sweatband is made of leather.

In terms of condition, it is good considering the hat’s age. There is, however, some wear to the leather band, clearly indicating that the hat has been worn. Please study the photographs and form your own opinion of the condition.

The inner circumference of the hat measures 54 centimeters. It can be stretched approximately half a size using a hat stretcher. Please scroll down for exact measurements.
