DESCRIPTION
This hat was produced in what was then Czechoslovakia by the well-known hat manufacturer Hückel. Hückel began its operations in Austria, but by the time this hat was made, the factories had been located in Czechoslovakia for many years. Based on the hat’s markings, we conclude that it was most likely produced during the second half of the 1940s. It was imported to Sweden by a company called Fritz Lindberg, based in Kalmar in southern Sweden.
In colour, it is light brown felt, with matching hatband and brim binding. The interior is lined with silk fabric bearing both the manufacturer’s and the importer’s logos. The sweatband is made of medium-brown leather.
In terms of condition, there is little to report. The state of the sweatband suggests that the hat has seen very little use - if any at all. Please study the photographs and form your own opinion of the condition.
SIZE
The inner circumference of the hat measures 54.5 centimeters. It can be stretched approximately half a size using a hat stretcher. Please scroll down for exact measurements.
