A. Marchesan & Siltberg – new collection of corozo buttons designed for classic menswear.

Anyone who chooses to enrich their life with older menswear will probably recognise the difficulty of finding worthy buttons for their prized garments when a replacement is needed. But the fact is that the same can be said of contemporary menswear tailoring – it is not easy to find high-quality buttons today if your aesthetic preferences are rooted in classic tailoring.

This is something we wanted to do something about, and the result is that we are now releasing a collection of our own specially designed buttons intended for classic menswear.

These buttons are made from corozo, or “stennöt”, as the material was formerly known here in Sweden. The raw material is a nut found in the tropical regions of South America. These seeds are exceptionally hard and dense, with a fine, ivory-like structure that makes them particularly well suited to the manufacture of buttons.

Corozo was once a common material for buttons, but over time it has increasingly been replaced by plastic. Our buttons are available in the most common sizes traditionally used in menswear tailoring, as well as in a range of colours that we hope will cover every conceivable need.
