DESCRIPTION
This suit is of Swedish origin. It was tailored by Fröjds in 1939. Fröjds was a Stockholm-based tailoring company. The suit is made from a dark blue pinstripe fabric with alternating narrow and slightly wider, discreet stripes. The jacket is single-breasted and fastens with three buttons. It features horizontal piped pockets and a breast pocket. There is a buttonhole on the left lapel. The lapels are relatively wide, typical of the era. The back of the jacket is straight and lacks a vent. Inside, it is fully lined and has two inner pockets, one on each side.
The trousers have double pleats, vertical front pockets, and a button fly. On the outside of the waistband at the front, there are buttons for braces. However, these buttons are located on the inside at the back. This combination of button placement is unusual and may have been altered later. At the back, there are two pockets, both with flaps and button closures.
Overall, the suit is fully wearable, but there are some minor fabric damages that should be noted if you are considering a purchase. For instance, there is some wear along the edge of one of the front pockets. These damages do not affect the overall appearance when the suit is worn, but they can be spotted if you know where to look. Please review the pictures and form your own opinion on the condition.
SIZE
In size, it corresponds to a modern EU 52 (US/UK 42). There is plenty of material to let out the waist of the trousers if needed. Please scroll down for the exact measurements and seam allowances.
