This coat was likely made sometime during the 1930s or 1940s and is of Swedish origin. It was once sold at PUB (Paul U. Bergström), a well-known department store in Stockholm. It is made from black wool fabric and features a matching black Persian-style shawl collar. The coat is double-breasted with three rows of buttons, all of which are functional. It has horizontal front pockets. The back has a belt and a vent. Inside, it is lined with fur in the body, made from a brown fur of unknown origin. It has two inner pockets, one on each side. One of the inner pockets features a label revealing the manufacturer.
The condition is overall good considering the coat's age and craftsmanship. The lining is in fine condition, though there is a small tear in the fur near one of the inner pockets. There is also a tear in the fur on the collar. These flaws are not visible when the coat is worn, only upon closer inspection. Please look at the pictures and form your own opinion regarding the condition of the coat.
SIZE
In size, it corresponds to a modern EU 48 (US/UK38), though this is assuming you are wearing a jacket underneath. If you wear a thinner garment, the coat would comfortably fit someone who is an EU 50 (US/UK40). Please scroll down for the exact measurements.
