There is no doubt, however, that they are Swedish, as they are marked “Goodyear welted” on both the outsole and the inside. They were most likely made before 1920. The boots are crafted from black goatskin, which was the most common type of leather for shoes at the time. The interior is lined with light canvas fabric, which was standard for the period. They feature a period-typical long symmetrical toe cap, which is noticeably longer than on the majority of modern shoes.

In terms of condition, they are excellent, considering the shoes are well over 100 years old. There are no significant damages. Looking at the soles, it is clear that the shoes have not been heavily worn over the years. They have only worn just enough that the manufacturer’s name in the logo is no longer legible.

SIZE

The shoes are marked “43” on the underside, which corresponds well with their actual measurements. As with many shoes from this period, they have a narrow fit, so they are best suited for narrower feet than average.

Please have a look at the measurements below and compare with a pair of shoes that fits your feet well.

COUNTRY OF PRODUCTION

MATERIAL

Sweden

100% goatskin upper leather, cotton canvas lining

MEASUREMENTS

A: 28 cm (inner sole total length)

B: 9,2 cm (outer sole widest point)

C: 30 cm (outer sole total length)

A.
